This course will train you as a beginner with no prior knowledge from a different academic background with an interest in Chinese language and culture. You will benefit from the taught and practical components which will allow you to acquire a basic to lower intermediate knowledge of modern Chinese (Mandarin), read and create different types of short and simple texts, participate in simple conversations and become aware of cultural aspects of Chinese, in accordance to the CEFR levels ranging from A1 to A2+ or HSK3 (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi). You will appraise Chinese culture in order to explore it further and develop the necessary communicative competences in peer-group interaction. You will be trained to autonomously construct simple and short coherent texts that will enhance your reading and listening skills.
